the "because" clause

Mila learned the word because and she tries to use it as much as possible. Everyhing she says is followed by "a-cause" Of course she has no idea how to use it and most sentences are "it's yummy a-cause, it's yummy" or "I'm tired, a-cause, I am" or "You're my mommy a-cause you're my mommy." Every once in a while one will make sense like, "I'm a baby a-cause I poop in my pull up"She actually said that recently. (sigh) Anyway, the best so far is today when we were listening to a CD of hers which says "you're a chicken and I'm a turkey" So she came up with this reasoning..."I'm mila a-cause I'm not a turkey!" It is probably only a matter of time until she realizes she can start asking, "Why?" and I can try to explain things to her, but for now I am enjoying her attempts at reasoning.

Mila took some pictures last week for Christmas. I think they turned out pretty good. She is getting so big!

I like this picture of us. I love her smile!

This is my favorite picture. She is getting so big!

You have to love this face. I get this look from her a lot. She is definitely stubborn sometimes.

Big smiles from my sweet little girl. It took forever to curl her hair, and only the bottom got curled. I had to put up with a lot of whining, but I think it turned out okay considering how STRAIGHT her hair is. Without hairspray it would have been straight again in minutes.

More leaves

The snow was gone by November 8th, which gave me more time to rake leaves. I had fun making the biggest pile possible and throwing Mila in the pile.

Our first snow was November 5th. I was so excited to show Mila the snow outside. She looked out the window and then looked at me and said, "What is it?" I told it was snow and she immediately ran to her closet and said, "I wear my pink boots!" She was so excited to wear her boots and help me "sweep the car." She got her little broom and began sweeping the snow off. I did the windows, and she was a little upset we didn't sweep all the snow off. She loved helping though. It hasn't snowed since then, but I bet we are going to have a lot of fun this winter.

Funny Mila sayings!

This morning it started thundering and Mila asked me, "What's that noise?" Then I said, "that's thunder." Then she nodded and said "his tummy grumbling." I was confused and asked her whose tummy was grumbling and she said, "Thunder's tummy grumbling" and she made grumbling noises and rubbed her tummy. It was so funny. I love all the funny things she says. On Friday I said it smelled like rain. She laughed and said "It doesn't smell like rain! It smells like pizza!" Gotta love it!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween. Mila and I had a busy day. We went to a study group and a conference with my writing teacher. Then we went to the Burns' house to tag along with them for trick or treating. We had a lot of fun. Mila was very happy to be a ladybug. I think I got tired faster than she did.

I am getting better at these self-portraits.

Fishy face!

She is all ready to go!

Mila and Anna. I kept trying to get them both to look at the camera and smile, but that did not work. Cute girls. On the way to their house Mila kept asking me, "I'm a ladybug...What Anna be?" I think she was starting to get the concept of dressing up...maybe.

Another attempt...Anna is very good at saying Cheese!

Sam's face was too priceless to not add this picture. What an adorable little guy!

The gang!

Trick or treating. Mila was always last.

Emma decided to lay in the grass and Mila had to follow suit. I guess they were getting tired. I know I was.

Fall Leaves

It was a gorgeous day yesterday so we raked leaves. Mila had a blast playing in them. She also chose to wear a dress up dress over her black turtleneck that usually goes under her ladybug costume.

I love this picture. You don't know how many I took to get one decent one.

My pretty little girl.

Law School Halloween party

On Thursday there was a Halloween party at school and because Mila hasn't been able to go to daycare because she's been a little sick she got to come. First we watched my Torts class in the family support room and then we went to the party followed by trick or treating in the carrels. Mila was shy, but it was a lot of fun. I was surprised how many people asked me who she was or were surprised when I said she was my daughter. I thought we look a little alike. Oh well...everyone thought she was really cute, and I have to agree.

Big smiles by my carrel right before trick or treating.

My carrel buddy Sara and her son Luke.

Mila's shy face. She uses this face a lot when she is at school with me.

There were a lot of people in the Moot Court room! Bonuse points if you can spot me and Mila!
